The Spiritual Art of Giving Reiki
To be invited into the aura of another being is a great honour. To then be invited to share Reiki with that person is a great blessing. Your own state of mind is just as important as that of the recipient, a clear and pure mind will be able to connect on a much deeper level than a mind which is full of the practitioners own fears and distractions.
Beginning to practice Reiki from a spiritual perspective will deepen your understanding of Reiki and allow you to connect with your recipient in a deeper and more meaningful way.
Preparing the mind for Reiki
In Japan, preparation of the mind is considered more important than preparation of the room or client. Prepare your own mind with spiritual discipline. Gassho Meditation before the session or recitation of the 5 Reiki principles will both help to open your mind to interpret subtle messages generated by the recipients aura.
Preparation of the body
Correctly connecting to Reiki as an energy source will protect, purify and empower your own energy body. A pure an empowered aura will enable you to accurately interpret the sensations generated by the recipients body.
Standing outside the recipients’ aura, complete the purification ritual of Ken Yoko.
You may wish to bow before entering the recipients’ energy field.
Once inside, connect your energetic bodies in the following manner…
Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen (x3) I connect to the mind, body and spirit of NAME for the purpose of healing. I request that my ego is set aside and that I become a pure channel for healing
Expand your own energy field to encompass that yourself and your client, creating a safe and nurturing healing space (use Joshin Kokuu Ho to achieve this)
Stand for a moment in the recipients energy field and tune in. Ask the energy field of the recipient permission to bring healing for their wellbeing and that you ask it to work with you to bring the best outcome.
Reiji-Ho – Indication of the Spirit
With your hands in the Gassho position, silently say to yourself
“I pray for the healing of (client’s name) whatever that may mean”
Bring your hands to your third eye and ask
“Reiki guide my hands”
Then wait for your signal, acting on the very first indication you receive, this will be the correct one. Your signal may include..
A sensation in your body
You may hear a word
See an internal organ with your intuitive eye
Have an inner knowing of where to go.
Once your indication has been received, move to that area and begin treating it.
Be aware of the flow of Reiki energy, control the flow by referencing the dantien and the breath.
Be aware of the entry of energy into the recipients body and it’s distribution throughout the physical body and the aura.
Work from intuition, use your third eye to observe the healing
