Reiki is commonly known as a healing therapy whereby the healer lays hands on their patient and channels universal energy to help balance the mind, body and spirit.Reiki can be used to help heal a whole host of ailments from back problems to emotional traumas and is very successful in helping patients facilitate their own healing process.

However, Reiki is much more than this, it is a philosophy in itself and to receive the optimum Reiki has to offer, you need to integrate it into your life.  Reiki is universal energy which means it is present in all living things, the earth around you, plants, trees and animals, your family and every other person you see or meet.  When you become attuned to Reiki, you align yourself with Universal energy. We all have this power within us, it just needs to be activated, just like tuning in a radio. To me, Reiki is the ultimate in realising your potential!

Reiki energy is bright, healing and nurturing and included in your life can bring you abundant health, wisdom, self worth, harmony and balance. Nothing need ever be the same once you have received and integrated Reiki into your life!

Reiki is connecting to and recognising the life force in all living things and using it to help heal Mother Earth and all those who live with her. When you receive your first attunement, you are making the commitment to self healing and spiritual development. A daily spiritual practice will help you align with the energies and gain everything you need to help you with your path.

The Reiki Journey

One thing you can be assured of when you learn Reiki is that life is never going to be quite the same again! Reiki has an uncanny knack of making you look at yourself, your life, your work and how you see the world. Many students report that amazing things happen after taking their Reiki degrees, from career changes to overall life evaluations. I have seen the very unconfident blossom into assertive and empowered individuals, the angry and stressed transform into the peacful and serene, the very sick gain amazing control over their symptoms and pain.  Integrated into your life, Reiki can become and powerful and inspirational companion. Throughout my own journey there have been dark times (as we all have) and without Reiki I know I wouldn't be doing as well!!

One of the wonderful things about the Reiki Journey is the people you meet on the way, you can gain alot of support and understanding from meeting those on the same path and I know of many very solid and lasting friendships that have been forged through Reiki. If you are thinking about taking your Reiki degrees, come along and meet those who are already on the path, talk to them (they all love talking about Reiki) and find out what they are doing with it and what effect taking Reiki has had on them. It had a profound effect on me, which is why I teach, but talk to others and make up your own mind!

Before beginning your Reiki Journey, it is important to find the right teacher for you. Afterall, you will be trusting them to guide you along your spiritual path. Find someone who you can relate to, someone who you can trust and respect, someone who will support and develop you without judgement. Personally, if at all possible, I like to meet all my students informally beforehand and so offer what is known as a "Reiki Chat". There are two ways of approaching this, either come along to one of the Reiki Sharing Circles. I am always at the venue from 7pm, so come along earlier if you would like to ask questions and find out more information before the group starts. Or, book in at my Reiki Clinic which runs from my home in Hedge End (SOUTHAMPTON) Mon - Thursday 9.30am - 2.00pm.  I also work Friday evenings (if I am not running a Sharing Circle) and the occassional Saturday morning (if I am not teaching).  During a pre-booked session, we have a look at what Reiki is and what you hope to gain from taking Reiki, just to make sure it really is the path you want to take. Afterwards you can experience a Reiki treatment and receive a temporary attunement to see how you get on.
