THE REIKI ALLOTMENT PROJECT 2008

As the proud owner of an Allotment in Southampton, I am dedicating these pages to share my research on how Reiki effects the growth and fruiting on an allotment.  I will keep you updated, but these are the questions I am going to try and answer in 2008

  • How often do you have to Reiki a plant to make a difference?
  • Do plants react differently to different symbols?
  • How does planting in spirals or in the shape of symbols effect a plant?
  • Which symbols work best on plants?
  • Do different species of plant respond better to some symbols than others?
  • What effect does Reiking water have?
  • Is there benefit in having the plot energy cleared and checked out for Geopathic Stress?
  • Is it worth creating an energetic Reiki Dome over a plot?
  • What happens when you attune seedlings?
  • Is a Reiki boundary enough to repell pests?
  • Are slugs repelled by certain symbols or possibly crystals?
  • What effect does Reiki have on weeds?
  • Will it effect the nutritional value of the produce?
  • Will the produce have innate healing ability?

February 2008

Practical stuff that needed doing.

I uncovered the plot which had mainly been covered with black plastic and carpet over the winter. The plot was dug and a large part of it improved with well rotted farmyard manure (hmm, lucky me).  Early potatoes have been put in a cardboard box to chit (which means to sprout)

A curving path has been dug into the plot.

Spiritual Preparation for the Plot

A plan of plot was put down on paper and placed on a Crystal Antahkarana Reiki Grid.  The Plot is empowered each day in the following way...

DKM over the grid and Master Crystal

The grid is then empowered in the following way... "I charge this Reiki grid with Light x3"  "I charge this Reiki grid to protect x 3", "I charge this Reiki grid to empower and grow" x 3

I have set up a seperate Reiki Grid to do this job.

Black Tourmaline has been placed in each corner of the plot to protect against negative energies.

The potatoes which are chitting and half of them have been attuned to the Karuna Reiki symbol Iava.

Cucumber plants were sown on the dark moon, but no Reiki.  They have been transplanted, there are 15 in all.  5 have been attuned to Iava,  5 have been attuned to Cho Ku Rei and 5 have been left alone.

Polly is going to the plot to do a Geopathic Stress Survey,  findings to follow.

UPDATE: 28th FEB 2008

CUCUMBER WATCH:   I gave REIKI to 4 of the plants yesterday

UPDATE: 9th APRIL 2008

CUCUMBER WATCH:   All doing really well, out of the attuned ones, there is nothing to choose between the Cho Ku Rei & the Iava plants.  The non attuned, non Reiki plants are doing as expected.  So far, it seems that a bit of attention is making a difference.

PLOT NEWS:  Polly has been and cleared the plot of Geopathic Stress.  Astonishingly there were some deep Geopathic Stress lines running along the Raspberry canes (which incidentally have not been showing any signs of life)  hoping that will change now.

WEATHER:  We have recently experienced some gales which happened the day after I erected our pea supports.   Quite a lot of damage was done to other plots, but ours remained untouched, must be the Cho Ku Rei that's put onto it everytime we leave.   I have had some success with avoiding frostdamage by using Cho Ku Rei on some left over lettuce which I planted out in the open ground and not under cloches.

9TH JULY 2008

I've been a bit slow on this one,  probably because we have spent every spare moment at the allotment.   I am delighted to say that we are now completely self-sufficient on the veggie and fruit front!

Everything has grown brilliantly, we had one hiccup with renegade pigeons breaking into my netting and nicking cabbages, some slug damage to carrots and some blackfly on the apple tree, but I can honestly say that's it!

So far this week only, I have harvested potatoes, peas, french beans, courgettes, salad, onions, garlic, swiss chard, spinach, raspberries, tayberries

23RD JULY 2008

The allotment is in full bloom as we speak,  many of my students have had the benefits of Rainbow Reiki Grown food, bless them and special thanks to Linda, Cathy, Carole and Claire who braved spinach, eggs and salad for a whole week.  I will be posting the Reiki Cookbook soon :-)

THINGS I HAVE DISCOVERED

I have absolutely no doubt that Reiki works on plants and I can now share some of things that have really worked and some of the things that didn't.

SLUGS

Nope, the only way to get rid of slugs is with pellets,  organic ones have been the most humane and effective

PLANTING IN SYMBOL FORMATION

Made absolutely no difference at all

RAINBOW REIKI SHOWERS

Has been by far the most useful application of Reiki over a period.  At the moment, unless I have a job to do, we are going to the allotment every 2 days to harvest.  A RR Shower over the allotment has continued to programme Reiki over the produce for a period of 48 hours, I just top it up every time I go.  I have also programmed a Reiki Dome over the plot and we haven't had any pest damage or break ins.

SYMBOLS I HAVE USED

The Karuna Symbol Iava has had a brilliant effect and test plants which had been given Iava either by beaming or in their water have excelled in their growth and production.

The Rainbow Reiki Symbol Nirokay has been useful when attuning seeds before planting.

I haven't noticed a particular species affinity to any individual symbol,  I guess they are glad of anything :-)

THE EFFECT OF REIKI ON WEEDS

Well, guess what, it makes them grow big and strong...hmm no surprises there

DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO THE TASTE AND NUTRITIONAL VALUE?

Hard to say as home grown produce straight from plot to plate is bound to taste better!  The only thing I can say for sure is that using the Rainbow Reiki technique Dancing Hands over live, fresh food took hardly anytime at all and the energy from the plate was tangible, even when the food had been cooked.   I think it made a difference and we all digested the food easily without the sluggish after lunch feeling.

OTHER THINGS THAT WORK

Chatting to them, definately.  My french beans who I had planted way too early were looking very pale and lethargic.  Every time I saw them I gave them Reiki and told them what fab beans they were, how they were going to grow big and strong and produce lots of beans (much to the amusement of the other allotment holders)  Last laugh on me, because guess what?  I have been harvesting handfuls every two days for the past 6 weeks.  (The kids are planning a Green Bean revolution...hehe just when they think they are all gone, I'll be able to give them the good news...I froze loads of them..lol!)

SO WHAT DID WE END UP GROWING?   Bear in mind I did this in a 20 ft square plot..

Potatoes, early and main crop

Peas, French Beans, Runner Beans

Courgettes, Hoki Squash and Butternut, Sweetcorn

Onions, red, white, shallots and tons of garlic

Tomatoes, Peppers, Aubergines and Cucumber (at home)

Carrots - Rainbow Coloured ones... white, purple and yellow...brillliant!, Beetroot

Strawberries, Rhubard, Raspberries, Tayberries, Loganberries, Blueberries, Gooseberries and Blackcurrants  (these will do better next year when they are more established

Rosemary, Lavender, Thyme, Lemon Balm, Lovage, Angelica, Sage,  Chives, Basil, Chevril, Feverfew, Spearmint, Peppermint, too much flaming mint..lol

and for a bit of colour.. Nasturtiums and Gladioli!

Currently in progress

Pak Choi, Leeks, Purple Sprouting Brocolli, Chicory, Fennel, Brussel Sprouts, Turnips, Swede, Celeriac, Cabbage, Kale, Autumn Carrots - Yep we will be self-sufficient all year round now

RECIPES

Before making anything, take a moment to contemplate the extraordinary process that the food you are about to prepare experienced before getting to you.

During cooking, use symbols and a Rainbow Reiki Shower.  Cho Ku Rei if you want water to boil/food to cook quicker.   Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen + what is it? if you find you started out making one thing and ended up with something quite different.  The Rainbow Reiki Technique Dancing Hands for 3 minutes after the food has been prepared or over the raw ingredients.  Nirokay to help digestion.

FLOWER SALAD

We have been growing Leaf Salad in a big row...a 15ft row infact of cut and come again salad and it has!  So everyone who comes round gets treated to my lovely freshly picked salad leaves.  Then they get a bit scared as they find flowers and herbs and all sort of things thrown in too.  Did you know you can put the following flowers into your salad?  Lavender, Nasturtium flowers, Thyme flowers, Violas (yep you can raid your hanging basket) Chive flowers (really yum) The salad looks pretty, needs only a little dressing and is a great talking point!

SALAD DRESSING

Is being made out of lots of chopped herbs, a bit of balsalmic, oil and lemon juice.  Just use what you have, you'll be amazed!

MINT & LEMON BALM TEA

A real favourite with people popping in and so easy

Take a small handful of mint and lemon balm, chop it up to release the flavour, I use an infuser, stick it all in and brew for 10 minutes.  A tea pot, more leaves and a tea strainer if the gang is in.

CHAI LATTE

Not from the Allotment, but taught to us on a Rainbow Reiki Course in Glastonbury by our friend Lisa.  It made a bit impact on me and Pixie (who has gone on to become a Chai Connisseur)  But as everyone asks me, this is how I do it...

I cup of vanilla rice milk

1 tspn of honey

1 Chai teabag (Sorry I got them from Sainsburys)

Boil up the rice milk, add the teabag and honey and let brew for 5 - 7 minutes

(YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN CHAI WITH CINNAMON & CARDOMON SEEDS)

LEMON & CARAWAY SEED CAKE

I'm beginning to wonder if people only come on the courses for this cake, a universal favourite and nobody has refused it yet!

8 oz of butter/Marg or Dairy free spread

8 oz of caster sugar

8 oz flour (you can use gluten free flour for this)

4 eggs (supplied by the girls living at the bottom of our garden)

A big slosh of lemon juice and a good sprinkling of caraway seeds

2 tspns of baking powder

METHOD:  Cream butter/marg with sugar and add eggs.  Fold in flour, lemon juice, seeds and baking powder.   Put in one cake tin and bake on the top shelf - Gas Mark 5 for 25 - 30 minutes.

If you want to be posh drizzle some icing on the top made with icing sugar and lemon juice.  Very moist, keeps for a few days.  I freeze it in slices and out it comes when people pop by.

SPELT, HONEY & CINNAMON BISCUITS (Gluten & Dairy Free)

A true favourite of the Reiki Share and Rainbow Reiki Classes, the whole thing can be made and out of the oven in less than 20 minutes!

200g   Spelt Flour

1 tsp   Baking Powder

2 tsp   Cinnamon

100g   Honey

100g   Sunflower Oil

Plonk it all in a bowl and mix it up.  It will turn into a slimy dough (yummy)!  Divide into tspn size balls and flatten with a spoon.  Place on an oiled baking tray on Gas Mark 5 for 15 minutes.
